The Low down

Sad day for slowcore fans: It was officially announced today that Low bassist Zak Sally has quit the band. (This makes the second time—he also left in 2003 but returned shortly thereafter.) He'll be concentrating on his small-press imprint, La Mano, which The A.V. Club interviewed him about last month. Sally has been replaced in Low by Matt Livingston, who also plays in Alan Sparhawk's side project Retribution Gospel Choir, and will make his live debut Dec. 9 at Low's holiday show at Minneapolis' First Avenue nightclub.
