The Masked Singer (Fox, 9 p.m.): Just… just watch this. Just watch it. For us. Watch this, for us.

Based on the South Korean series King Of Masked Singer, Fox’s The Masked Singer is, to use a common parlance, just so much. It’s easy enough to sum up: Famous people perform in an American Idol-style singing competition while wearing elaborate, usually furry costumes that completely conceal their identities as well as their speaking voices. But bonkers as that description may sound, it can’t quite capture the nuttiness that is The Masked Singer. Nicole Scherzinger flirts with the unholy offspring of Mike Wazowski and James “Sully” Sullivan from Monsters Inc. Robin Thicke wears a lot of the same “wow I’m so moved” face. Ken Jeong is very on board with all of this, Jenny McCarthy is also present, and the bunny is the straightjacket is either weirdly hot or terrifying and maybe both?

So, yeah, The Masked Singer. Look for Allison Shoemaker’s rampant speculation-filled pre-air review later today.

Mythbusters Jr. (Science, 9 p.m.): The trend for “reality show, but make it kids” spinoffs hasn’t produced non-stop winners, but this one seems like a sure thing. Adam Savage has emerged from his mythbusting retirement to shepherd “six of the nation’s leading young ‘makers’, robotics wizzes, builders, and inventors, all under the age of 16, who show off their amazing ingenuity and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) skills.” Genius kids, busting myths? Sounds like just the thing.
