The Masked Singer meets the federal government shutdown in this Full Frontal exclusive

Two topics of equal weight and perturbation—The Masked Singer and the federal government shutdown (now going on its 33rd day)—get the Full Frontal treatment in this exclusive clip.

Intrepid reporter, comedian, and Canadian Allana Harkin heads to Washington D.C. to learn more about the hostage situation–er, negotiating tactic that President Tantrum is using to get funding for one of his many ill-considered (and just plain racist) ideas. But she senses that these furloughed employees are unlikely to go on camera and disclose the negative impact of the shutdown for fear of reprisal (wonder where they’d get that idea?). So the Full Frontal correspondent offers an inspired solution, one that allows for anonymity and gilded masks. Of course, the unsettling reality of this shutdown pierces through the voice changes and feathers, but, for just a moment, we can pretend that Lady Gaga works for the National Park Service.

Full Frontal With Samantha Bee returns to TBS tonight at 10:30 p.m. ET.
