The idyllic small town at the center of Spike’s The Mist adaptation doesn’t remain a haven for long in this new trailer. Previous previews have showcased the gruesome yet unseen threat posed by the creeping fog—sorry, mist—but the latest clip fleshes out the characters a bit (before they’re torn apart). Alex and Eve Copeland (Morgan Spector and Alyssa Sutherland, respectively) appear to want some kind of peace, though it’s now in short supply, and we’ll be damned if Natalie Raven (Frances Conroy) doesn’t seem to be welcoming this ghastly presence. And even though she’s terrified, Alex (Gus Birney) faces down whatever’s lurking or apparating and lives to tell about it, so that’s bound to come in handy down the road in this sci-fi horror series, which premieres June 22 on Spike.
