The Monuments Men has also been delayed to 2014
This year’s crowded awards season continues to become less so, as George Clooney’s The Monuments Men has become the latest prestige film to miss its scheduled release by moving from Dec. 18 to a yet-to-be-determined date in 2014. Much like the delays for Martin Scorsese’s The Wolf Of Wall Street (bumped from November to Christmas Day), Bennett Miller’s Foxcatcher (pushed from December to another TBD date in 2014), and Grace Of Monaco (rage-eaten by Harvey Weinstein), The Monuments Men “just didn’t have enough time,” Clooney tells the L.A. Times, adding, “If any of the effects looked cheesy, the whole movie would look cheesy. We simply don't have enough people to work enough hours to finish it.” And while it would be very easy to, say, just set a bunch of G.I. Joes on fire and call it a film, this is why George Clooney is the director and not us.
