If you were hoping that The Mysteries Of Laura might somehow be spared the fate of its network compatriots Undateable, Telenovela, Crowded, Game Of Silence, and Heartbeat, we have some bad news for you. E! Online reports that NBC has canceled the series after two seasons of Debra Messing struggling to achieve that which has historically eluded TV moms—a work-life balance. As Detective Laura Diamond, Messing juggled twin kids, a lazy lout of an estranged husband, and all that detective work in NBC’s adaptation of the Spanish series. The actress thanked the show’s fans on Twitter with emoji but with nary a “Shine on, you crazy Diamonds” reference.
