The Mythbusters Build Team will now be blowing stuff up for Netflix

Back in 2014, Mythbusters cast members Kari Byron, Tory Belleci, and Grant Imahara (known as the “Build Team”) were dropped from the long-running Discovery Channel series, with the show itself getting the proverbial rocket-powered boot a year later. The Science Channel is already planning to bring the Mythbusters brand back with a new generation of explosion-loving scientist-types, and now Nerdist (via io9) is reporting that Netflix will be getting the Build Team back together for a new series of their very own.

This news was announced at Dragon Con this weekend in Atlanta, with the convention’s official Twitter account offering up a pretty basic summary of this new project:

It sounds like it’ll be called The White Rabbit Project and it’ll star Belleci, Imahara, and Byron, with someone who was actually at Dragon Con telling Nerdist that the series will involve the three of them testing myths and legends inspired by the internet. Though it seems like Netflix hasn’t officially announced the series, Belleci confirmed its existence on Twitter:

Also, this old Twitter post from Imahara back in May suddenly makes a bit more sense:

The White Rabbit Project will apparently premiere on Netflix this December.
