The National’s latest single introduces us to “Carin At The Liquor Store”
The National continued its low-key, sadly beautiful promotional push for its new album, Sleep Well Beast, today, releasing its latest single, “Carin At The Liquor Store.” Piano-driven and wistful, the track features Matt Berninger gently crooning about love, disappointment, and John Cheever’s corpse. It’s the third single off the band’s seventh studio album, which is due out on September 8, following in the footsteps of “The System Only Dreams In Total Darkness,” and “Guilty Party.”
The band will head out on an international tour in support of the album in mid-September, kicking off with a show in Ireland and then bouncing all around the Northern Hemisphere. You can see the full list of tour dates here.
