It seems like CBS is having trouble figuring out how to sell its new sci-fi show Limitless. You‘d think the network would be pretty psyched about a series based on a movie starring Bradley Cooper, which the star is not only producing but acting in a recurring role. Not only that, but the pilot got some strong press coming out of Comic-Con, which must have reassured the Eye. But here we are with a new TV spot for the show, making it look like some sort of Jim Carrey vehicle from the ’90s. Now, the magical pill leads to all sorts of wacky highjinks—like playing the guitar really, really well—instead of the action-packed CIA thriller stuff we’ve been shown up to now.
