The new trailer for Cameron Crowe’s Roadies lets the grime show
When Showtime released the first real trailer for Cameron Crowe’s upcoming series Roadies, it confirmed many people’s suspicion that it would be a jubilant paean to the crazy world of rock ‘n’ roll music and the wild characters who keep it spinning—which is to say, a Cameron Crowe project. This newly released trailer is mostly more of the same with slightly less Vaseline smeared across the lens, allowing a little bit more of the weirdness and grime of life on the road to come through. We get a few amusing character moments, such as a New Jersey-born crew member (Peter Cambor) attempting and hastily abandoning an affected British accent when the band’s new financial advisor (Rafe Spall) threatens him with unemployment. We also get a quick look at some kind of awkward threesome action. On the whole, this trailer portends a more interesting show than its somewhat overly saccharine predecessor.
Luke Wilson, Carla Gugino, and Imogen Poots will star alongside Rafe Spall, Keisha Castle-Hughes, Peter Cambor, and Machine Gun Kelly. Crowe wrote and directed the pilot episode and will also serve as executive producer right beside J. J. Abrams and Winnie Holzman (My So-Called Life).
Roadies will premiere on Showtime June 26th at 10 p.m. ET.
