The new Zombieland 2 poster is basically just the #10YearChallenge, but with chainsaws
It’s been a decade since Ruben Fleischer’s Zombieland overran theaters, marrying the twitchy, sprinting energy of modern zombie flicks with a smartass sensibility suggesting there were worse things in the world than having the entire planet as your personal, corpse-packed playground. 10 years (and one brutally murdered streaming TV show) later, and Columbus, Tallahassee, Little Rock, and Wichita are making their way back to movie screens. And since nothing says “We understand the grim, unyielding passage of time” better than indulging in slightly tired memes, Sony released a new poster for the sequel—subtitled “Double Tap”—alongside an old one for the original, reassuring us that, evil dead clowns or now, Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, Emma Stone, and Abigail Breslin are all aging pretty well. (Woody’s taste in hats: Not so much.)
Not that the new sequel is entirely backwards-looking, at least; Sony also announced today that there’ll be at least one new survivor tagging along with the Twinkie Team, with Rosario Dawson signing on for the franchise’s latest installment.
