The newest AHS: Hotel trailer takes you on a creepy but mod tour

Looks like someone watched The Shining once or twice while prepping this new trailer for American Horror Story: Hotel, because there are some shots that are Kubrick as all get-out. Of course, those elegantly composed moments are paired with the signature insanity of American Horror Story’s visual aesthetic, but still, it makes for a compelling 30 seconds of viewing. (And, much like the show itself, can be summarized by noting that it’s pretty to look at but largely incoherent.) Unlike the earlier teasers, this one gives us a good look at many of this season’s characters as Kathy Bates, Angela Bassett, Matt Bomer, and others all make fleeting appearances. Set to Brodinski’s “Bury Me,” the whole thing is very stylish and mod and oozing with visuals that wouldn’t be out of place in a late-’90s Marilyn Manson video. Perhaps he’ll drop by the hotel at some point, possibly to claim copyright infringement? Regardless, Wednesday, October 7 is your check-in time.
