The next Bond movie has a release date—and that’s about it

In a statement released to Variety, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer and Eon Productions say that the next James Bond film, the 25th in the series, will debut on November 8, 2019. That gives the studio a little more than two years to figure out what to call the movie, or what happens in it, or who’s going to direct it, or who’s going to star in it, given that Daniel Craig has yet to decide if a rumored $100 million payday is enough to make him give a shit about the further adventures of the aging superspy whose playboy lifestyle he once called “sad.” Actors from Idris Elba to Gillian Anderson have subtly and not-so-subtly suggested that they’d be happy to take on the role should Craig’s fucknemia prove terminal—not that Craig cares who replaces him, mind you.

So, yeah, that’s all we’ve got for now. Stay tuned.
