The Night Manager director Sussane Bier to helm Nicole Kidman's next HBO limited series

Sussane Bier has an Oscar, an Emmy, and a Golden Globe under her belt, but the Danish filmmaker may have just scored her highest-profile gig yet as the director of David E. Kelley and Nicole Kidman’s The Undoing.

A six-episode limited series inspired by Jean Hanff Korelit’z book You Should Have Known, The Undoing lives up to to its title by following a therapist whose perfect life falls apart when her husband goes missing a week before her first book is set to be published. As Jean-Marc Vallée did on both Big Little Lies and Sharp Objects, Bier will both direct every episode in its run and serve as an executive producer.

Bier, who also helmed the excellent spy thriller The Night Manager, will soon release Bird Box, a horror film starring Sandra Bullock and Sarah Paulson, on December 21.
