Think fart and poop jokes are the pinnacle of humor, but find the comedy in Troma films like The Toxic Avenger or Poultrygeist far too sophisticated? Fret no more, because the trailer for The Greasy Strangler suggests you’ll soon have all the bodily fluids jokes you want, combined with—well, see for yourself. It starts out fairly straightforward, with a guy suspecting his old man might be a murderer dubbed the “Greasy Strangler.” But once his father admits as much, the son calls bullshit, and from there, it’s a rapid-fire montage of asses, farts, genitalia, rubber-headed gore effects of the oldest-school variety, and a menacing sexual threat from the old guy to cap things off.
There is no middle ground on a film like The Greasy Strangler: Either this is a film you find totally gross and lowbrow, or you don’t watch movies like this. If, through some impossible twist of fate, you’re on the fence, you can check it out October 7, and decide whether you’ve been missing out on grindhouse ridiculousness all these years.
