Missed after knocking-off time yesterday: TV Week reports that Fox will cancel The O.C. after the ubiquitous teen drama (with the equally ubiquitous Phantom Planet theme song) finishes its fourth season next month. The show's ratings were gradually falling, but this should surprise at least some folks, as the show wasn't entirely marked for doom. So for those of you who get annoyed at the weekly outpouring of 12- to 25-year-old empathy the show elicits every week, Feb. 22 might be a tough day, but at least it'll be the last. Until the DVDs come out, of course.
