The Oath swears unholy doom on its debut album

German singer Johanna Sadonis and Swedish guitarist Linnea Olsson know doom. The two form the core of the metal band The Oath, whose self-titled debut is one of the most wicked, shadowy, and savagely catchy rock albums of the year so far. In addition to all the dark atmosphere, there’s an inhuman knack for hooks and indelible melody to the disc’s full arsenal of anthems, from the quiet, creepy “Leaving Together” to the galloping prowess of “Silver And Dust.” The album, in all its mystique-soaked glory, is being streamed in full here for the first time.

The Oath will be released April 15 via Rise Above.
