The ollies are not what they seem: Twin Peaks gets a skateboard line
Twin Peaks returns to Showtime on May 21, and with it all the things you loved about David Lynch’s surrealist soap opera: The moody atmospheres. The sly, macabre humor. The sweet kick flips into a curb grind, followed by a perfect switch heel into a Fire Walk. Yes, all the things you associate with the cult series are back, thanks to Lynch’s collaboration with Habitat Skateboards on a new line of custom decks inspired by the show, featuring artwork modeled after some of its most recognizable iconography and beloved characters. If you’ve ever wanted to do a gnarly railslide on the murdered Laura Palmer’s face, now’s your chance.
Other designs in Habitat’s Twin Peaks collection include decks modeled after Agent Cooper, Audrey Horne, and the Log Lady, as well as the more all-encompassing “Damn Good Cup Of Coffee” with the familiar Double R Diner logo and little cherry pies set against the roaring Snoqualmie Falls. All of these are sure to spark conversation about the meanings of the Black and White Lodges as you’re thrashing around the half-pipe.
Habitat is also offering Twin Peaks mugs, pins, and T-shirts, for all you poseurs.
