The party’s over for Fox’s Party Over Here

Fox’s female-centric sketch comedy show Party Over Here is coming to an end after just one season, IndieWire reports. The show’s initial run of 10 episodes—which starred seasoned UCB veterans Nicole Byer, Jessica McKenna, and Alison Rich—ran late nights on Saturdays from March through May, and never managed to build up a solid viewer base despite its only real competition being some show called Saturday Night Live. Paul Scheer co-created the half-hour series with the Lonely Island’s Andy Samberg, Akiva Schaffer, and Jorma Taccone, as part of TLI’s development deal with Fox.

“It was an effort to try to do something interesting at a low price point with content creators who we like a lot,” Fox TV Group CEO Dana Walden said in a statement. “We were hopeful that little elements of the show might go viral.” Unfortunately, that never happened, despite the talent involved and some genuinely funny takes on aspects of modern culture.
