In a press release today, Starz announced that it will be ending its hit drama series Power after one last season, though Starz president of programming Carmi Zlotnik is already teasing that, “as one chapter comes to an end, another will begin.” We don’t know specifically what that means, but the statement goes on to say that “there are a number of stories” that Starz wants to tell as it continues to “explore and expand the Power universe.” Apparently there’s a whole vaguely teased plan at work here, with Power creator Courtney A. Kemp even mentioning that there are plans to follow “some of your beloved Power characters beyond the scope of the initial series” and that there will be some twists about who and where and when these characters are.

In terms of concrete information, though, we know that this sixth and final season of Power will have an expanded order of 15 episodes, and it will be the directorial debut of Power regular Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson. The final season will premiere on August 25.
