Aging bad-asses coming out of retirement for one last job—it’s so hot right now. First up, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sylvester Stallone, Dolph Lundgren, Bruce Willis, Meaty Von Muscles, Chesty St. Bicep etc. will kick a little millennial ass in August’s The Expendables, and today we’re getting our first glimpse of October’s Red—which the trailer tells us stands for “Retired, Extremely Dangerous”—an adaptation of the comic miniseries by Warren Ellis and Cully Hamner. In the film, ex-CIA agent Willis recruits a whole ’nother batch of folks who have lately realized they're no longer too old for this shit, an impressive cast that includes Morgan Freeman, Mary Louise-Parker (who apparently counts as old), John Malkovich, Richard Dreyfuss, and Dame Helen Mirren, who’s fought the rapid encroachment of age via topless photo spreads in New York Magazine and now emptying machine guns into SUVs, God bless her. Red arrives in theaters October 15.
