The Roseanne reboot will premiere midseason on ABC
Roseanne is indeed coming back to ABC and is set to premiere in 2018, the network confirmed today. Asked for details on the project during a press conference call today, ABC Entertainment president Channing Dungey said ”We’re rebooting Roseanne,” later adding that “it is planned for the midseason.” Though Dungey noted that ”we’re still at the early stages,” ABC revealed in a release that Roseanne Barr, John Goodman, Sara Gilbert, Laurie Metcalf, and Michael Fishman are all going to return, as are both Beckys, Lecy Goranson and Sarah Chalke. Chalke, however, will be playing a different role.
When news of the revival broke, Deadline reported that it was also being shopped to Netflix, but now it’s officially coming back to its birthplace. According to the announcement, the “Conner family will continue to deal with the economic challenges of living pay check to pay check in 2018.”
