“America, you’ve waited long enough,” a deep-voiced narrator hums over quick shots of President Fitzgerald Grant and Olivia Pope in bed together. Let’s just imagine the narrator is referring strictly to the return of ABC’s Scandal and not about the reunion of Olitz, because that shit is toxic and we promise that America can keep waiting on that one. Olivia deserves more. Mellie deserves more. America deserves more than a whiny potato of a president.
Well, at least Mellie is breaking free. Near the end of the promo, Fitz hits the First Lady with divorce papers, but knowing Mellie, she’ll have the last word. Mellie, sign the papers and run. Let’s hope that this all leads to Mellie and Olivia both ditching Fitz so Olivia can run Mellie’s successful presidential campaign. Hey, last season made it pretty clear that anything can happen on Scandal. Give America what it really wants.
