The showdown of Peggy Olson vs. Pete Campbell

This is what’s up in the world of TV for Sunday, April 19th. All times are Eastern.
Top pick
Mad Men (AMC, 10 p.m.): Look, usually the Mad Men episode previews don’t give us that much to go off of, but the official TV Guide synopsis this week has the words “Peggy and Pete clash” in it, and that’s more than enough to warrant top-pick status. Specifically, the two clash over an account emergency. Our money is on Peggy. Apparently, Joan is going on a business trip, so maybe week three will give us the Joan-centric episode we’ve been waiting for in this final (half)-season. There’s no mention of Diana in the synopsis, so it’s unclear whether Don’s ghost girlfriend will be showing up. Check back here after the show for John Teti’s analysis.
Also noted
Academy Of Country Music Awards (CBS, 8 p.m.): You can blame country music for there being no new episode of The Good Wife tonight.
Veep (HBO, 10:30 p.m.): The Veep continues to adjust to her new job as not-Veep anymore, and while the whole team is busy with staff shake-ups and visits from the Israeli prime minister, Mike is—of course—busy trying out a new look, because if we can count on Mike for one thing it’s that no one can count on Mike for anything.
The Last Man On Earth (Fox, 9 p.m.): We actually don’t know if there’s anything particularly noteworthy about tonight’s episode of LMOE, but the TV Guide synopsis is so vague and next-week-on-Mad-Men-esque that we had to share: “Phil’s odd life continues.”
