Michael Nesmith, Micky Dolenz, and Peter Tork of The Monkees have announced plans for a fall tour—the group’s first time on stage together since 1997. The trio plans to honor the band’s fourth member, Davy Jones, who died earlier this year, using "multimedia content." (The word "hologram" was not explicitly mentioned.)
This will also be the first time that Nesmith—the most distant member since he left the band in 1970—has toured with The Monkees since 1969. His last onstage appearance was to promote the band’s 1997 album Justus, the first album written and recorded by just the original lineup.
The shows will be more than just musical performances, and will include rare films and photographs from the band’s many memorable years. The tour makes 12 stops throughout the U.S., starting in California and ending in New York City, beginning in November. Dates are below.
