The Television Critics Association liked Parks And Recreation, Justified, other shows TV critics like
Long before there were the Critics’ Choice Televison Awards, there were the Television Critics’ Association Awards—and yes, much like the various movie guilds that convene every year to hand out pre-Oscars nominations, there’s definitely some overlap between the sensibilities of the two. But in this case, the TCA has seniority (it’s now in its 27th year) and whatever, it’s always nice to see recognition for shows and performers that most likely won’t get the same at the Emmys.
Among the things that the CCTA’s and TCA’s voting bodies agreed on: Parks And Recreation, Justified, and Game Of Thrones were among the best shows on TV this year, actors like Community’s Danny Pudi, Justified’s Margo Martindale and Timothy Olyphant, and Parks And Recreation’s Nick Offerman (who’s also hosting the ceremony) all deserve to win something, and Glee took a nose dive in its second season—even more evident here, as it took Program Of The Year in 2010 yet was completely shut out in 2011, with nary a Jane Lynch nod to be found. Among the places where they differ: Peter Dinklage rightfully made this list, and the TCA remembers Terriers. Here’s the complete list of nominees:
