The trailer for Crackle’s StartUp reveals just how dirty white-collar crime is

Crackle’s next big original series looks like it’s gonna be a little bit grittier than Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee. However, this is just a trailer, so you can never know for sure. But even the most uncomfortable moments of Jerry Seinfeld’s conversation with Michael Richards don’t much compare to the image of woman laughing maniacally in a blood-streaked bathtub as seen above.

Created by Ben Ketai (30 Days Of Night: Dark Days), the drama will follow a group of unconventional “tech entrepreneurs” as they try to nurse one fascinating idea into existence with the help of some unsavory sources of capital. Martin Freeman stars as a very American-sounding FBI agent who gets tangled up with a banker (Adam Brody), a gangster (The Blacklist’s Edi Gathegi), and a computer hacker (Graceland’s Otmara Marrero) until they’re all speaking in hushed tones and making very solemn faces at one another while other people walk around with guns. Looks like things might get pretty intense.

StartUp premieres September 6 on Crackle.
