The trailer for Dolly Parton’s Christmas Of Many Colors will uplift you, damn it
Last year, the first of NBC’s Dolly Parton movies brought in hordes of viewers looking for some comfort in the form of the childhood tales of the beloved country singer-songwriter. Now the network is at it again, reworking a few words in the title so it’s the Christmas Of Many Colors rather than the Coat Of Many Colors. Well, actually the full name is even more of a mouthful: It’s Dolly Parton’s Christmas Of Many Colors: Circle Of Love. The film brings back Alyvia Alyn Lind as the young Dolly, while Jennifer Nettles and Ricky Schroder play her parents. Meanwhile, Parton herself also appears as a character called The Painted Lady. The trailer makes The Painted Lady out to be a guardian angel-type figure for Parton’s younger self, but it’s worth noting that she’s got a bit of an R-rated edge: Parton is actually playing the “town trollop.” Christmas Of Many Colors premieres November 30.
