The trailer for Kenneth Branagh’s Cinderella tells the same story with new faces
After a teaser trailer that confirmed little to nothing except that there would be a glass slipper, we finally have a full-length trailer for the Kenneth Branagh’s live action Cinderella. But that doesn’t exactly share anything new either.
As Branagh told Entertainment Weekly, “I believe that there are expectations of a Disney Cinderella, which demand you use the tenets of the story. So, of course, we give people a pumpkin. Of course, we give them a carriage. Of course the mice are going to transform into the horses. Everything that you might expect is there.” Which means we’ve been given the same story, but with a new cast that includes Cate Blanchett as the evil stepmother Lady Tremaine, Helena Bonham Carter as the Fairy Godmother, Game Of Thrones star Richard Madden as the Prince, Derek Jacobi as the King, Stellan Skarsgård as the King’s dastardly adviser, and Downton Abbey actress Lily James as Ella. Cinderella hits theaters on March 13, 2015.
