The trailer for Lifetime’s Girl In The Box will make you appreciate your miserable life

Here’s a film for anyone whose agoraphobia was triggered by the expansive vistas of Brie Larson’s shed in Room. Girl In The Box is a fictionalized retelling of Colleen Stan’s real-life, seven-year nightmare in which she was kidnapped while hitchhiking and kept locked in a wooden sensory-deprivation box 23 hours a day from 1977 to 1984. The 22-year-old was abducted in Red Bluff, California by a young couple who used her as their sex slave and torture receptor. Be forewarned: This is probably not going to be one of those feel-good Lifetime movies.

Addison Timlin (Zero Hour, Californication) stars as the extremely unlucky hitchhiker, with Zane Holtz (From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series) and Robin Williams’ daughter Zelda Williams (Dead Of Summer) as her less-than-cordial hosts, Cameron and Janice Hooker.

Lifetime will release Girl In The Box on Saturday, September 10 at 8 p.m. ET.
