The trailer for Mission: Impossible—Rogue Nation hopes you like Tom Cruise jumping

Given that the plot of three of the four Mission: Impossible movies basically involves the government disavowing and/or trying to get rid of Tom Cruise’s Agent Ethan Hunt, the people involved in the latest one decided not to mess with success. After the excitement of yesterday’s teaser trailer, now we have a proper one to show you all the ways that Tom Cruise knows how to jump.

Mission: Impossible—Rogue Nation finds jumping Tom Cruise uncovering the existence of a group of evil super-spy types (“The anti-IMF” in the trailer’s parlance) and joining up with his fellow crime fighters to take on the shadowy cabal. He’s punching, kicking, driving cars and motorcycles in a reckless manner, and—as must be contractually mandated, it’s now clear—running with his shirt off. Always running, this one. Perhaps Mission: Impossible 6 will find him doing battle with the heartbreak of fallen arches?

Co-starring Simon Pegg, Jeremy Renner, Rebecca Ferguson, and the gravely voiceover of Alec Baldwin, Mission: Impossible—Rogue Nation leaps awkwardly but acrobatically into theaters July 31.
