The trailer for Netflix’s Bloodline promises hot, muggy, Florida suspense
Just in time for more awful winter weather, Netflix released a full-length trailer for its new thriller Bloodline, offering frostbitten viewers the opportunity to live vicariously through the Florida-based Rayburn family. Of course, this is a series from Damages creators Todd A. Kessler, Daniel Zelman, and Glenn Kessler, so Bloodline’s Florida Keys won’t be all sun, surf, and sand castles. There’s also a mysterious burning boat related to some awful secrets the Rayburns are hiding beneath their perfect family facade—at least, according to narration from favorite son John Rayburn (Kyle Chandler). Those secrets surface upon the return of black-sheep brother Danny (Ben Mendelsohn), whose presence erodes the bonds between the other Rayburns, played by Sam Shepard, Sissy Spacek, Linda Cardellini, and Norbert Leo Butz.
Whatever those secrets are, they can’t possibly do a better job of destroying family bonds than the chore of chipping through walls of snow, so prepare to binge-watch with envy when Bloodline premieres March 20.
