The trailer for True Blood's final season has no one left to care about Alcide’s subplot

The end is nigh for True Blood, with the show’s June 22 return kicking off its seventh and final season, and its last chance to answer all of our unresolved questions about Alcide’s relationship with his father. Will the brooding werewolf finally come to terms with his brooding, slightly smaller werewolf dad? Or will the impending vampire apocalypse, brought about by Hep V-ridden vampires waging all-out war on Bon Temps, stand in the way of their reconciliation? This trailer offers little in the way of answers to these and the other pressing questions that True Blood has long pretended like we should give a shit about, focusing instead on Hurricane Katrina-evoking imagery of a forsaken Bon Temps—imagery that suggests True Blood may turn out, at long last, to be a prequel to Treme. But it also asks an important question: How can FEMA just turn a blind eye to making sure Alcide feels like he finally belongs? Don’t they realize this subplot matters?
