The Walking Dead’s Laurie Holden joins NBC’s Chicago Fire spinoff
Not to be confused with Chicago Hope—we’re rebooting the ’90s, not actually living them—Deadline reports that The Walking Dead alum Laurie Holden will co-star in NBC’s yet-to-be-announced Chicago Fire spinoff Chicago Med. Holden will play Dr. Hannah Tramble, a fearless, brilliant ER surgeon whose tough-as-nails childhood left her with a dark edge.
The American-Canadian actress joins costars Yaya DaCosta and S. Epatha Merkerson (Lifetime! Lifetime! Lifetime!) in the NBC medical drama, which is expected to be introduced during this season’s 19th episode of Chicago Fire. Rumored characters include a psychiatrist, pediatrician, and admissions nurse, and actors will be cast as guest stars with options to become series regulars.
In addition to her new role on Chicago Med, Holden recently co-starred in Dumb and Dumber To with Jeff Daniels and Jim Carrey. She’s also been doing arguably more important things in her lesser known role liberating sex slaves in Colombia.
