The Walking Dead season 8 trailer is full of hope and shit talk
At today’s San Diego Comic-Con panel, AMC presented a sizzle reel/trailer for season eight of The Walking Dead, and it’s actually pretty great? Exciting, even. The five-minute video is just stuffed with explosions, rousing speeches, and Carol looking like she can handle the Saviors on her own. It opens with Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) making it clear he’s still a force to be reckoned with, asking Father Gabriel (Seth Gilliam) if he happened to put on his shitting pants that day, because he’s going to need ‘em. But before we can get sick of that familiar crowing, the trailer heads back to Alexandria, where Rick (Andrew Lincoln) is rallying the troops. He gives them a stirring pep talk over scenes of the survivors working together and fighting each other. With his own shit talk about “ending” anyone who opposes them, Rick obviously means business. Also, the tiger is back, as his King Ezekiel’s goofy lieutenant, and Darryl’s (Norman Reedus) crossbow. Seriously, this is so full of action, humor, and optimism that we are really looking forward to the season-eight premiere on October 22.
The panel also included a tribute to stuntman John Bernecker, the stuntman who died after being gravely injured on set.
