The Walking Dead shambles back onto the schedule, craving your eyes

Here’s what’s happening in the world of television for Sunday, February 10. All times are Eastern.

The Walking Dead (AMC, 9 p.m.): The underwhelming reveal of the nature of the Talkers (what we’re calling the so-called talking walkers, ™ Alex McLevy) left us feeling a bit cool toward the poor old Walking Dead. Here’s more from McLevy on the let-down:

It’s fair to say there’s a lot of potential in that idea, but it can’t help but feel like a bit of a letdown after the early episodes this year showed such promise in the notion of deriving human conflict from our existing characters. Worse still, that promise is just lying there waiting to be utilized: There’s a whole plot about what went wrong between the communities, and rather than delve into it in a significant way, the show is playing the waiting game, obnoxiously offering little teases of a far more interesting show, if only it would stop playing coy and dropping elusive hints about why Alexandria (and Michonne in particular) is on the outs with the other two outposts.

Yet we’re glad to see it back, if only because it means more Danai Gurira with a katana on our screens. We doubt she’ll be allowed to bring one to the Oscars, and we’ve got to get our fix where we can. Alex will report back on the walking, talking dead and undead in his recap tonight.

61st Annual Grammy Awards (CBS, 8 p.m.): If you’re eager to hear “Thank U, Next” again, you’ll need to satisfy yourself with YouTube, but that doesn’t mean there won’t be performances worth watching on tonight’s 61st Annual Grammys, Ariana or no Ariana. Dolly Parton! Cardi B! Janelle Monáe! One taught us love, one taught us about the failings of our elected officials, and one taught us to be free-ass motherfuckers.
