The Wall is where Game Of Thrones goes to be dull

DVR Club is back to pore over the highlights from last night’s TV—namely, Game Of Thrones’ season premiere. John Teti and Katie Rife, both avid Thrones fans, are here to share a couple possible interpretations of the ominous flashback that kicks off Cersei Lannister’s fifth-season storyline in “The Wars To Come.” Our editors also complain about the boring old Wall, where nothing happens, and they take note of creative camerawork that suggests Thrones might be broadening its visual language, at least a little. John hasn’t read the books, and Katie has, but she promises not to reveal anything when we arrive at Speculation Corner—as if you couldn’t already find out what happens next week anyway.

For more Thrones analysis, check out at least half of our double-barreled review coverage. On the one hand, you’ve got Erik Adams’ review for newbies, and on the other, you’ve got Myles McNutt’s “experts” review for those who have read the books.
