The War On Drugs announces new album, shares Springsteen-esque “Holding On”

It’s been a few years since The War On Drugs released Lost In The Dream, but the band is finally back and readying a new full-lenth album for release this summer. The album will be titled A Deeper Understanding, and thanks to Noisey, we also have the debut single, “Holding On.” The track is just as Bruce Springsteen-esque as most The War On Drugs tracks, complete with a driving lead guitar, some twinkly xylophone stuff happening in the background, and flashes of Adam Granduciel doing a nasally Bob Dylan thing from time to time. You can hear the song below.

A Deeper Understanding will be available on August 25.
