The Wire and Friday Night Lights stars hired to make us pay attention to The Purge 2

Last year’s surprise sort-of-hit The Purge had a relatively small cast, as the film chose to establish a world where all crime is legal for just one night, but spend all of that night hanging at Ethan Hawke’s house. And while that decision was certainly understandable—Ethan Hawke seems like a chill dude—producers of the upcoming Purge 2 are operating under the notion that maybe it might be nice to see some other murders, even if they’re committed outside the general vicinity of Ethan Hawke. To that end, it’s hired Prison Break star/delicious-sounding appetizer Frank Grillo to star, and, to the end of making us grudgingly interested, it’s hired Michael K. Williams and Zach Gilford. It’s unknown as yet what specific roles will be played by the stars of The Wire and Friday Night Lights, respectively. But they are confirmed to play the part of “TV actors whom we would probably watch in a sequel to The Purge, if we have to.”
