The Wire's Snoop Pearson will plead guilty to drug charges
As of press time, David Simon still has yet to find a way to transform himself into a dozen African-American men and women, but fortunately for The Wire’s Felicia "Snoop" Pearson, she won’t need some sort of magical, 12 Angry Simons jury. The actress will plead guilty today to her recent charges of conspiracy to distribute heroin, accepting a misdemeanor. Her attorney acknowledged that Pearson, who did not have a significant role in the Baltimore network accused of trafficking heroin and marijuana from New York and Los Angeles, nevertheless knew some of its alleged participants from her teenage years, and says that she’s taking the guilty plea so she can rid herself of this whole mess and get back to pursuing her acting career. He also added, “She learned a valuable lesson about how some loyalties you keep and others drag you down”—which, didn’t she already learn that just from watching The Wire?
