The Wrens’ new album is finally nearly complete

Twelve years after the release of their last record, The Meadowlands, The Wrens are finally inching closer to unveiling a new album. No, really: According to the New Jersey crunch-pop band’s official website, their fourth LP is currently being mastered, with a release date, album artwork, and even some tour dates coming soon. To say the still-untitled record has had a long gestation is putting it mildly. In fact, guitarist/vocalist Charles Bissell told The A.V. Club back in late 2009 that the record would be out in summer 2010, and the Wrens’ Twitter feed has been an exhaustively detailed chronicle of mixing notes, remixing notes, and missed deadlines. At least until now.
