The writers' strike: It's ovah!

It's been a fun ride filled with soul-destroying reality shows and embittered late-night talk show hosts, but the writers' strike is officially over. NBC will have new episodes of its comedies and several dramas (though some will wait till fall), and is weighing whether ER and Friday Night Lights will continue. Most networks won't extend scripted series into June; they'd rather bank episodes to get an early start to fall. And a shortened window to develop new fall programs–and a decision by some networks to delay returns of this season's new crop until then–and will reshape the year, prompting fewer new shows than usual. But it's over, TV addicts. It's over!
