The xx announces new tour after sending out free tickets to fans
Critically acclaimed British indie group The xx is currently working on its third album of dreamy, electronica-tinged pop, due out on January 13. Now, to build anticipation for the release of I See You, the band has quietly announced a new European tour, kicking off in Sweden on February 8.
News of the tour—which will run in addition to shows the band is playing in Europe and Japan later this year—actually broke yesterday, when fans of the band began reporting that they’d been sent free tickets to some of the shows. It’s not clear what criteria the band used to select the lucky fans, but it’s a pretty nice gesture for their musical admirers in the U.K., Germany, and other stops on the tour.
