There are so many famous people doing voices for Netflix's Dark Crystal prequel

It was only a couple years ago that we reported that there wouldn’t be a Dark Crystal prequel movie after all, but since then Netflix has gone out of its way to make us look like the fools we are. Not only has the streaming service picked up a 10-episode series set before the events of Jim Henson and Frank Oz’s original movie, but now it has secured a voice cast that is so impressive that it seems like Netflix hired these specific actors just to shame any pessimistic doubters. The freshest news is that Taron Egerton, Anya Taylor-Joy, and Nathalie Emmanuel will be playing the three Gelfling protagonists in the story, but as solid as they are, it gets better.

As noted by Variety, The Dark Crystal: Age Of Resistance will also feature—deep breath—Helena Bonham-Carter, Natalie Dormer, Eddie Izzard, Harris Dickinson, Theo James, Toby Jones, Shazad Latif, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Mark Strong, Alicia Vikander, Caitriona Balfe, Donna Kimball, Harvey Fierstein, Ralph Ineson, Andy Samberg, Simon Pegg, Keegan-Michael Key, Ólafur Darri Ólafsson, Jason Isaacs, and Mark Hamill. Pixar’s Onward has a good cast, but it doesn’t have Mark Hamill and Natalie Dormer and the guy who stepped on a landmine on True Detective.

Variety doesn’t say when the series will premiere, but waiting doesn’t matter so much when you’ve already waited over 30 years.
