There’s a new Game Of Thrones beer on draft

Though it won’t arrive in time to wet your whistle with at your Super Bowl party, a new Game Of Thrones beer will soon be on the market. HBO’s partnered with Brewery Ommegang on a new line called Bend The Knee Golden Ale, suggesting that these are Cersei Lannister-inspired brews. And sure enough, the beers carry three house sigils: Lannister, Stark, and Targaryen.

If you’re wondering about the flavor profile, these Bend The Knee beers are a pils malt and flaked oats combination, with Saaz, Bravo, and Styrian Golding hops. Obviously, the press release also notes that these beers are fit for a king or queen, which implies that someone’s kept up with the show, which saw a new butt on the throne by the end of season six. The beers each retail for $10.99 (9% ABV, so some bang for your buck), and you can pick them up, appropriately enough, starting Memorial Day, when you’re getting ready to pour one out for all the Dothraki leaders we’ve lost.
