There’s a new Gorillaz record on the way

A new Gorillaz album should come lumbering onto the music landscape in the semi-near future. Damon Albarn says the group will start recording its follow up to 2011’s The Fall in September, though whether that means fans can expect a new record in 2016 is anyone’s guess. In an interview with Australian TV show ABC 7.30, Albarn explained the lack of recent Gorillaz material by saying he’s “just been really, really busy,” most likely with Blur stuff, including the group’s latest LP, The Magic Whip. Still, Albarn told the interviewer that he’s excited to get back to work, saying he’d “love to just get back in to that routine of being at home and coming to the studio five days a week.”
