Modest Mouse has announced plans to release a new album in 2015, its first since 2007’s We Were Dead Before The Ship Even Sank. The news came in veiled format as the band joined Instagram and posted a photo of a 7-inch labeled “Lampshades On Fire,” a track that 91X DJ Robin Roth says will premiere on the radio (and thus on the Internet) next Monday, December 15.
While there’s no firm album title or release date announced yet, the group is set to perform this week at KROQ’s Almost Acoustic Christmas outside Los Angeles, so it’s fairly reasonable to expect more information in the days to come.
