There’s a third Fyre Fest documentary, and this one’s got
Ken Bone

Following Netflix and Hulu’s dueling documentaries about the ill-fated Fyre Festival, there is a now a third chronicle of Ja Rule and Billy McFarland’s most epic of fuck-ups. And, buddy, this one’s got 100% more Ken Bone in it. Fyr3: The Third (Mostly Crowdsourced) Fyre Festival Documentary is the creation of LA-based comedy writer and director Joey Clift who, upon recognizing the public’s insatiable appetite for Fyre-related content, decided to slap together a 30-minute feature with the help of some very influential influencers.

While the previous documentaries relied on in-depth interviews with festival organizers and attendees, Fyr3 instead opts for a dramatic reading of the Fyre Wikipedia entry as comedians, wrestlers (Dolph Ziggler!), and concerned citizen Ken Bone (catch him at the 49-second mark) detail their own (made-up) experiences. You certainly won’t learn anything new, but if you’re craving reenactments of rich, Insta-famous d-bags floundering on a Caribbean beach, this is the film for you.

“With Billy McFarland profiting off of the Hulu documentary and the Fuck Jerry guys making the Netflix documentary, I wanted to make a Fyre Fest documentary that people could watch without feeling like they were supporting those guys,” Clift said in a statement.

Fyr3 comments not just on the event and its accompanying documentaries, but also, in a particularly meta moment, on itself. Maybe not the best decision, that, as it negates the need for 4yre: The Fyre Fest Documentary Documentary, which, to be clear, we’d still welcome with open arms. More Fyre documentaries, please.
