Like Jackass 2 and 3 before it, Johnny Knoxville’s newest prank movie, Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa, will be getting a DVD sequel. Bad Grandpa 1.5 will be released simultaneously with the movie this Friday, Oct. 25, and features footage shot by director Jeff Tremaine but not included in the movie. Weirdly, Grandpa 1.5 also features contributions by two Oscar nominees, Catherine Keener and Jackass pal Spike Jonze, who both play old ladies.
Bad Grandpa stars Knoxville as Jackass character Irving Zisman, who is travelling across the country with his 8-year-old grandson. The movie’s narrative is framed by shots of unassuming real people, kind of like what Sacha Baron Cohen did with Borat and Bruno.
