There's probably a new Paul McCartney record coming out later this year
Paul McCartney is reportedly set to release a new solo album, his sixteenth, later this year. Rolling Stone says the ex-Beatle has spent the last year or so in the studio with producers Mark Ronson, Paul Epworth, Ethan Johns, and Giles Martin, son of McCartney pal and Beatles producer George Martin. Johns tells Rolling Stone that McCartney contacted him out of the blue to record, and the two worked on four or five tracks together. The tracks were recorded direct to tape, and Johns called the experience of working with McCartney “revelatory,” saying, “People get so fixated on the equipment and the gear, and those things are important—but ultimately, the bass sound on Revolver is Paul. Paul could be playing anything and he will get that sound.”
